As you know Toon fan and long distance runner/charity fundraiser extraordinaire, Mark Allison, is aiming to run 3100 miles across the USA in 100 days during the Summer of 2011 in aid of St Benedict's Hospice and The Children's Foundation. This ‘marathon’ effort was impossible to ignore and so NUST got touch with Mark to see how we could help.
Colin Hillier and Steven Wise have done a lot of research behind the scenes for the USA trip which has allowed Mark to concentrate on the important aspects of training and fundraising. As a small thank you to Colin and Steven, Mark nominated them as the Trust’s ‘Local Achievers’ for the Blackpool match as guests of NUST which despite the disappointing result was still enjoyed by all.
Mark added, “I’m very grateful to NUST for their hospitality and for recognising the hard work being done behind the scenes to make the 3,100 mile run across the USA a success”.
