Do your bit to help Wallsend Boys' Club in continuing to provide the vital youth services they help provide in North Tyneside.
At the minute they are simply asking people to strengthen their case by signing their online petition.
We will shortly bring you news on this website of how you can help them if you would like to donate (*Please note that when you are signing up to the petition you will be asked if you would like to donate but please bear in mind that this donation would help to support that petitions website and NOT Wallsend Boys' Club).
It's also worth bearing in mind that of the NUFC Under 18 starting eleven who recently beat QPR 2-1 in the FA Youth Cup, the following were at Wallsend Boys' Club during part of their formative years before the Academy - Adam Campbell, Dennis Knight and Louis Storey.
Wallsend Boys’ Club were NUST’s most recent ‘Local Achievers’ and received match tickets for the Villa match courtesy of the Trust in recognition of their valuable contribution to youth services in North Tyneside.
The following is an appeal by WBC Chairman Steve Dale
Wallsend Boys’ Club Appeal to Save Our Youth Services
I would like to ask you for your support in helping our campaign to save Wallsend Boys’ Club Youth Services from likely closure.
Wallsend Boys’ Club, which has been on the same site in Station Road Wallsend for almost 50 years, is facing a crisis on 2 fronts that is threatening to end the Club’s Youth Provision work in the community that addresses anti-social behaviours, crime and drug related issues.
Features
Over the past couple of years NUST have regularly worked on joint initiatives with Wallsend Boys Club, an organisation that is about so much more than just kids playing football.
The latest NUST ‘Local Achievers’, who received tickets courtesy of the Trust for the Blackburn match, are St Oswald’s Hospice which provides specialist care for North East adults, young people and children with life limiting conditions. Their annual running costs are £8.5 million, of which £6.5 million must be raised through voluntary giving. No charge is made for the services provided ensuring hospice care is available to all.
Unless you have literally being living on another planet in recent months, you can’t have failed to marvel at the superhuman (Super Geordie) efforts of Run Geordie Run, AKA Mark Allison.
The latest NUST ‘local achiever’ is Shaun Wait - who was the winner of the NUST competition at the recent Westgate Juniors Fun Day. Hundreds of boys and girls attended the event and entered our competition - guessing the number of names on our giant Northern Rock Shirt. Shaun was the closest and won a pair of tickets to the Newcastle v Arsenal match on Saturday. Shaun is pictured receiving the tickets from Coach Development Officer Keith Parsons.

This weekend’s local achievers have been nominated on behalf of the ‘Dreame Fund’. Paul Taylor and Dave Scott (pictured below) will be attending the Birmingham match courtesy of NUST, their valuable role as part of the team is in the capacity of operating theatre orderlies.
