"Newcastle United Supporters Club (NUSC) urges all fans to join together for a final push to fight the nightmare of finishing in the bottom three.
We can’t pick the team, select a manager, dictate tactics or buy and sell players. What we can do is fill the ground for each of the remaining home matches, just as we know the hardcore away support will take up every away ticket.
Support for the team comes first and we urge everyone to make that the priority for the remaining weeks of the season. When the dust settles on this nightmare season that will be the time for supporters to decide if they want to pay their money and put their faith in whoever is running the club.
For many supporters not going to the match will never be a choice but many others may only continue to financially support Newcastle United if it is once again heading in the right direction.
Let’s send out a message to Mike Ashley and any prospective owner - the supporters are the club’s biggest assets and that with a truly ‘United’ club there is no limit to what can be achieved. The aim of a truly ‘United’ club will also be our future challenge to them."
That was our statement in the week leading upto the Chelsea game, to help create a party atmosphere we arranged for a balloon launch to prior to the game and a banner marking the return of Al.
This work is continuing for the remaining home fixtures, press releases, events, working with the Chronicle and the football club to ensure that as good an atmosphere as possible is generated at each of the remaining home games.
