£433 was contributed by Magicbox to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. They contributed £1 per Spiderman mask sold for the Newcastle vs Forest game. The idea was born on Facebook and publicised by NUST and others for a very worthy cause. Also received recently was the confirmation of the £4673.86 donation (pictured below) which were the proceeds of the auction of the signed Shola shirt worn during the Sheffield United game.
Pauline Buglass, head of fund-raising for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, says: "The ongoing support we receive from fans of Newcastle United and other clubs is wonderful and very much appreciated.
"We've never had a Spiderman fund-raising idea before and it certainly was a very different way to raise money. We're grateful to Newcastle United Supporters Trust for their continued efforts to raise money for Sir Bobby's charity. The money will help patients within the north east and Cumbria who are fighting hard against cancer."

The genuine Newcastle United shirt worn by Shola Ameobi during the match against Sheffield United at St James' Park on Monday 5th April 2010 ( the day the Magpies secured their return to the Premier League) has been auctioned for the excellent sum of £4800 in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
The delay in the announcement was just to ensure that the funds cleared - which they now have. Our thanks go the purchaser from Scotland and of course Shola himself for enabling such an excellent sum to be raised.
The shirt was signed by the Newcastle United first team and coaching staff, and was kindly donated by Shola Ameobi.
Signatures on the shirt include Shola Ameobi, Jonas Gutierrez, Fabricio Coloccini, Andrew Carroll, Steven Taylor, Joey Barton, Steve Harper, Peter Lovenkrands, Chris Hughton and more.

In honour of Jonas Gutierrez's recent outing of his long awaited Spiderman Mask, there are plans afoot to wear these masks at the Forest home game on Monday 29th March. This idea has been circulating in cyber space for the last few days, you may have seen it developing on our official Facebook page and other NUFC forums and discussion groups.
Join the Facebook event here!
The idea is simple: you turn up to the next home TV game (Nottingham Forest on March 29) wearing a Spiderman mask in a public tribute to our fleet-footed Argentinian winger and encourage not only to keep his celebration, but to score more often! Jonas recently declared he was looking to change his famous celebration... he might change his mind after this!
One outlet, Magicbox on Percy Street has agreed to donate £1 for each latex mask (at £9.99) that they sell to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, whether bought in the shop or from their website here.
Have you already bought your mask from somewhere else? You can still help! Just head over to the SBRF donation page and donate what you can afford. Every little helps.
NUST have no connection with Magicbox.

Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson has agreed to become Teesside patron of north east cancer charity the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. The charity benefits cancer patients from across the entire north east region and Steve has agreed to become its official representative in Teesside.
Sir Bobby Robson achieved incredible success at home and abroad during a football career that lasted more than 50 years and took him almost as far as a World Cup Final. The former England player and manager began his professional football life at Fulham Football Club but it could so easily have begun on Teesside when he had a trial with Middlesbrough in 1948. Sadly for Sir Bobby his trial was unsuccessful, and Middlesbrough’s loss was Fulham’s gain on that occasion, but he always maintained a great regard for the club.

A Newcastle United supporter is hoping to do his bit for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation by trekking 33 miles just to see a game!
David Neale is planning to walk from his home in County Durham to St James’ Park for the Toon Army’s final home game of the season in April, when Newcastle welcome Roy Keane’s Ipswich Town, who Sir Bobby also managed during his career. The 22-year-old United season ticket holder has wanted to organise a fundraiser for the foundation ever since Robson passed away in July last year. David has set a target of raising at least £1,000 with the brave challenge, which will see him cycle home, in Newton Aycliffe, after the Ipswich game on April 24.
“I just want to raise as much money for the foundation as I possibly can,” he said. "Like all Newcastle and football supporters alike, I was deeply saddened by Sir Bobby’s death, but inspired by his bravery and determination to raise money for cancer research. I know people who have been effected by cancer so ever since Sir Bobby’s passing I’d planned to do something, just to do my bit. I thought the Ipswich game was the ideal fixture to organise it due to Sir Bobby’s fantastic managerial record with them as well, so that makes it all the more poignant. The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation raises a huge amount of money to help cancer patients in the North-East so the more I can contribute to that the better.”
