Elections
The NUST formally announces the election process for the appointment of Trust Board Members as announced at the 2012 AGM.
Any member interested in nominating a candidate or voting must be at least 16 years of age and a fully paid up member of the NUST as of 24 January 2012. Should you wish to run as a candidate then you must be at least 18 years of age and a fully paid up NUST member as of 24 January 2012.
There are 5 Trust Board positions to be filled and candidates are standing for a position on the Trust Board only, not specific roles.
A block voting system is being utilised where all candidates run against each other for the 5 positions. Each voter selects up to 5 candidates on the voting form, and the 5 candidates with the most votes shall be deemed elected.
Timetable
The issuing of the election notification (24 January 2012) is the start of the election process and the close is with the announcement of the final result by the scrutineer.
There are three phases to the election process:
Phase 1: Notify members of the election via email and letter (letter only to those members who have not notified NUST of a valid email address).
Candidates to register interest.
Phase 2: Issue requested Candidate Packs with Trust Board Nomination Forms.
Completed Nomination Forms and Candidates Statements to be returned.
Phase 3: Issue Voting Forms with Candidate Statements.
Completed voting forms to be returned.

Standing
Any member interested in standing for a position on the NUST Trust Board is required to complete the
The deadline for submitting this request is midnight 07 February 2012.
In phase 2 of the election process all members requesting to stand will on Wednesday 08 February 2012 be sent their election candidate pack which will include the nomination form and candidate statement forms together with all relevant documentation.
Voting
Voting in phase 3 of the election process online will be within the membership area of the website. .
