Who triumphed at the FSF Writers Awards? The inaugural FSF Comedy Panel Show & Football Writers Awards in association with Cult Zeros took place last Saturday and what a brilliant night it was. HOWZAT?! Safe Standing Roadshow visits Lord'sThe Safe Standing Roadshow visited a pretty unlikely venue last Friday (8th July) when it called into the home of cricket, Lord’s. Among the interested spectators was Mike Trice from Populous (left) - a leading architectural firm. The Roadshow has now visited London, Wolverhampton, Tyneside, Liverpool, Oxford, and Scotland. Tomorrow it visits Supporters Direct’s conference in Chester before taking in Bristol City (24th July) and Peterborough (17th September). |
ADVERT: RAFA - Be part of something specialRAF personnel and their families dedicate their lives to their country. The RAF Association’s mission is simple; to ensure that their sacrifice does not end in suffering, poverty or loneliness. Whether it’s an injured airman fighting to get back onto his feet, a young daughter missing her parent away on overseas operations or a WWII veteran needing a shoulder to lean on, we are here to help. |

Supporters Direct Fans' Weekend (15th July)The Supporters Direct Fans’ Weekend, encompassing the Annual Conference and Fans’ Day, gets underway today at the Queen Hotel, Chester. The event takes place against the backdrop of the upcoming report on the inquiry into the governance of football. How can the Coalition Government best fulfill its pledge to ‘encourage the reform of football governance rules to support the co-operative ownership of football clubs by supporters’? UEFA's William Gaillard, a key adviser to Michel Platini, will also speak at the event. |
And finally... Benayoun's bag of tricksYossi Benayoun hasn’t had the best of years since moving from Merseyside to West London. An injury hit season restricted him to only 209 league minutes but if his pre-season is anything to go by 2011/12 might be a little kinder to him. Check out his frankly ludicrous goal against Wycombe Wanderers in a closed door friendly earlier this week. Brilliant. FROM THE (FAN) MAIL BAG: Thanks to all the readers who emailed in to correct us on last week's assertion that Gyoengyi Gaal was male. 'He' is most definitely a she and we certainly deserved a yellow card for that one. Whoops. |
