Fan Mail - The FSF Newsletter (27th January 2012)
The EPPP and why youth development mattersLast week Andre Villas-Boas said that Premier League clubs should be allowed feeder sides in the Championship. The Football League rejected this outright and the vast majority of fans feel it’s a non-starter too (89% rejected the idea via the FSF's homepage poll). But the idea of elite clubs wanting to hoard young talent is a worrying one and academy rules passed in October could make that more likely. |
Fans welcome pre-match consultationCredit to fans' groups from both Liverpool and Manchester United who met with the clubs, FA, and police to try and help things go as smoothly as possible for fans come Saturday. Supporter consultation is key when it comes to a successful matchday and our affiliates at the Independent Manchester United Supporters Association, Manchester United Supporters Trust, and Spirit of Shankly have shown how that can be done. |

And finally... a bubble match we likeThis one was doing the rounds last week but it deserves another plug. From the Norwegian TV station which brought you electro-shock football (also linked to below) comes the bubble match. Some of the 'hits' are more akin to rugby than football but don't let that put you off! If you spot anything good chuck it our way via newsletters@fsf.org.uk. We'll give you a well deserved namecheck and, more importantly, it'll save us some work. |
