More than 70 die in Egyptian football disasterIt goes without saying that no-one should go to a football match and not return home alive. Our thoughts are with our fellow fans in Egypt and those who have lost loved ones in the worst football-related disaster of recent years - 74 fans are now reported to have died. RIP. |

Southern Division meeting (Sunday 5th Feb)The next meeting of the FSF’s Southern Division will take place this Sunday 5th February (noon) at Southend United's Roots Hall. Racism and homophobia are on the agenda (not like that, obviously) as the Southern Division asks what can supporters do to challenge discrimination? They'll also be talking naming rights - does sponsorship give owners the right to change the name of a club's ground? |
And finally... the scorpion is back with a bangAside from being pick-pocketed by Roger Milla at Italia 90 Columbian keeper René Higuita will forever be remembered for the scorpion kick. Rewind 17 years (yeah, that long ago) to 1995 and future Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has literally hit a weak shot which Higuita saves in flamboyant fashion. Well now it’s 2012 and the scorpion is back. |
