Holystone NUSC Roadshow - 12th May 2009

The holystone inn Fresh from Newcastle's draw in the first of three must win home games NUSC held it's Roadshow at the Holystone Pub in North Tyneside. Before an audience eager to hear views on a range of Newcastle related topics and NUSC activities the evening began with NUSC committee member Steve Hastie outlining to the audience what NUSC had been up to-in particular the 'Al-together Now' campaign with the Evening Chronicle giving full support to Shearer/the team for the rest of the season. Steve related to the audience how the campaign had began and developed, including details of the balloon launch prior to the Chelsea home game.

Highlight of the night, the Chronicle's very own John Gibson then followed with his current thoughts on the Newcastle United position which had the audience gripped as John expressed his views on regime and players.

There then followed a short break where the audience had the opportunity  to indulge in some Newcastle 'nostalgia' by participating in a picture quiz of old players, some famous, some infamous and then indulge in a buffet, kindly provided by mein host.

The second session of the night began with committee member Colin Whittle explaining to the audience the principle of Supporters Trusts and the ongoing work with national fans' organisation Supporters Direct towards altering NUSC status to that of a Supporters Trust.

And then more Gibbo...a Question and Answer session which the audience lapped up, with stories of best and worst Newcastle players, best and worst Newcastle managers and a host of other Newcastle related tales. The session never seemed to end much to the enjoyment of the crowd. Gibbo on form.....not to be missed!
