Toon fan and long distance runner/charity fundraiser extraordinaire, Mark Allison, is aiming to run 3100 miles across the USA in 100 days during the Summer of 2011 in aid of St Benedict's Hospice (charity no 1019410) and The Children's Foundation. This ‘marathon’ effort was impossible to ignore and so NUST got touch with Mark to see how we could help.
Colin Hillier and Kevin Wise have done a lot of research behind the scenes for the USA trip which has allowed Mark to concentrate on the important aspects of training and fundraising. As a small thank you to Colin and Kevin, Mark has nominated them as the Trust’s ‘Local Achievers’ and they will be going to the Blackpool match on Saturday as guests of NUST.
Mark added, “Many thanks to the NUST for rewarding the hard work of the 2 volunteers and for the invaluable help in spreading the word about the run across the USA”.
