No. 9 Reunion will help under privileged North East Kids

Shearer_Stevenage_-_smallThe Black And White Reunion Dinner returns for a third year and is celebrating the playing careers of two of its finest centre forwards. Alan Shearer and Malcolm Macdonald will attend a dinner, with proceeds going to the NSPCC, to be held at the Lancastrian Suite, Federation Brewery in Gateshead on Wednesday 25th November 2009.

They will be joined by a host of former players and North East celebrities. Event promoter Steve Wraith from Players Inc Event Management promises that more big names will be in attendance. Steve said: "We have approached one or two other players and are awaiting confirmation, but we are specifically covering the centre forwards this year. Previous events have been a huge success when we have reunited the fans with the 83-84 promotion squad and last year the entertainers." The host for the evening will be the Evening Chronicle’s John Gibson.

Danny Mitchell NSPCC Corporate Manager said "This is going to be an amazing night that will prove so vital with our fundraising up here in the North East. To have Alan Shearer and Supermac headlining is unbelievable and is a great credit to Players Inc Event Management. Alan is a legend for Newcastle United and he is also a legend for the NSPCC helping to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds to help us to protect children. I am very much looking forward to this third Black and White Reunion that Steve Wraith has organised in aid of NSPCC I am sure as usual the event will raise a substantial amount for NSPCC ChildLine thanks to the hard effort that he puts in".

Alan Shearer, Newcastle United’s and premiership all-time leading marksman with 260 goals said:  "I'm really looking forward to teaming up with former No. 9 Newcastle United legends and to help raise much needed funds for the NSPCC here in the North East. If you live here it's your boyhood dream to pull on the black and white stripes of the famous No. 9 shirt. I was lucky enough to realise my boyhood dream and play for my home town club. The NSPCC is one of my chosen North East charities and hopefully some of the funds raised on the night may go towards developing a future Newcastle United star."

The following names have now been added to the guest list for the players Inc charity evening in aid of the NSPCC

Ron McGarry, Alan Shoulder, Billy Whitehurst, Paul Cannell, Joe Allon and Imre Varadi.

This promises to be a unique opportunity to meet and hear from former Newcastle United Players who had the honour of wearing the famous Black and White No 9 Shirt during their playing career.
