The genuine Newcastle United shirt worn by Shola Ameobi during the match against Sheffield United at St James' Park on Monday 5th April 2010 ( the day the Magpies secured their return to the Premier League) has been auctioned for the excellent sum of £4800 in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
The delay in the announcement was just to ensure that the funds cleared - which they now have. Our thanks go the purchaser from Scotland and of course Shola himself for enabling such an excellent sum to be raised.
The shirt was signed by the Newcastle United first team and coaching staff, and was kindly donated by Shola Ameobi.
