Fan Mail is back for 2012 and there's some good news to start the year. Fan-related arrests are down by 9% with only one in every 12,249 fans arrested - that's 0.01%. 70% of matches also passed without a single arrest - let's hope the media remember these stats next time they get into a feeding frenzy over hooliganism.
If it’s not one thing it’s another for Sepp Blatter and the latest bad news he received came from fans. Football Supporters Europe (who the FSF is affiliated to) has turned down a request from FIFA to sit on its Independent Governance Committee. FSE cited serious concerns around the nature of the IGC’s independence, transparency, and potential impact. Basically FIFA's Executive Committee wants control over the group supposedly investigating it. More here.
