A spokesperson for NUSC said. ‘We have members from across the world who reflect the diversity and worldwide reach of Newcastle United and also mirror the passion of the fans in the city. Many have links with the region.
Their messages of support for Alan have been overwhelming and we believe that it reflects 99.9% of the fans. Alan will add much needed stability to the club along with a global reach that reflects the club’s true status. It is yet another demonstration to Mr Ashley that his last act could well be his best for the club – appoint Alan now and we believe that the club will become a more saleable asset which will allow him to walk away from the club knowing that he has done the right thing in the end’.
NUSC membership is growing daily on the back of their joint campaign with the Chronicle and have gained over 300 members from various countries including 52 from Italy. In addition they are running a series of roadshows which have also boosted membership.
